Image bank:
I have chosen these photos because they all have the similarity that the lines all continue into the distance. All these photos are made of different materials which help to give the lines a different effect. Some of the lines are made up of shorter lines whilst others are just long lines. These photos all show how common lines are and that they can be found in places that you don't expect. These images also show how lines do not always have to be straight and stand out, these images so that can be wavy or curved as well as discreet.
In the two images above and below the use of black and white lines in a alternate pattern compliments each other and helps to give definition. As the white ends and the black beings and vice versa, the lines are clearly defined as you can clearly see a change in colour as well as a straight line.
In the two images above and below line is shown through the bricks and slabs in the pavement. The use of line in the bricks helps to give definition and form to the wall itself. I also adds some personality to the wall as neither of the walls in the different pictures have the same size bricks or lines. The lines also help to show the length of the wall as they allow you to focus on a certain line and follow it to see where the line ends in the photo.
In the two images above and below. lines have been used to show depth. The lines in these photos show that a path or journey is being followed. They help to give the image a sense of destination, that isn't actually revealed. The use of lines here gives you something to focus on but at the same time the lines blur out at the end. This is effective as it helps to draw you into the picture and to follow the lines through.
