In this session we was given the topic of tone. I enjoyed this topic as I liked seeing how different images and settings looked without there natural colours. I liked to see the way that the tone of the photos changed the whole way the image looked to me. I think that this topic may have been one of my best topics as I feel that I took some of my best photos during this session. If I could re do this topic I would just try to take more pictures that are more original to some of the ones that I have taken, as I feel that some of my pictures we similar to ones that I had take in previous topics but just in black and white,

I think that the photo above is one of my best photos as it shows a lot of different tones in one picture. I like the way that the setting of this picture looks natural and would give the same effect if the picture had colour. I think that the picture below is a good picture that shows the use of tone in a natural setting as nothing has been altered in this picture. However I think that this picture is quiet a boring picture as it doesn't show a range of tones.

I have chosen to include these pictures from the Internet as I think that they show how tone can completely change the atmosphere and setting of a picture. The photo above uses tone to create the idea that the picture is taken from inside something like a cave. this picture also uses the different tones to create the different parts to the image. I chose the picture below because it very clearly uses tone to create a atmosphere in a image. The use of tone in this picture creates quiet a dark and mysterious atmosphere. this shows how tone can immediately change the way that you think about or view a image.

Definition of tone: to harmonise with (someone) in terms of colour.

Describing words for tone: attitude, mood, colourful, colourless, cold. emotion, emotionless. 

I have chosen to include this picture because it shows tone through the use of the grey colours. The different shades of grey help to see the different elements of the picture. The fact that some of the tones are lighter than others means that some are a general lighter colour than the other. The tone in this picture helps create emotional and intriguing atmosphere.  

I have chosen to include this picture because it shows how tone can be used to alter a picture and still let it look like a natural setting. The light grey almost white colour allows the idea of sunlight coming through into the setting. I think that the tone in this picture creates quite a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

The use of the dark tone in this picture helps to create the feeling of night time, yet the use of the light tones creates a more busy street like feel of the image. The use of tone in this picture helps to create the setting without it being so clear to the human eye.

The tone in this picture creates quiet a lonely desolate atmosphere, The use of the lighter colour to focus on the end of the picture helps to create the element of depth as well as help to create the atmosphere as it shows that a small amount of sunlight is seeping through.

The pictures below all show tone to create a mood and atmosphere in a picture. some of the pictures that i have chosen give of a cold feeling where others give of a warm feeling. Tone is typically a black and white themed idea, however some of the pictures can show tone through different colours. The tone in these photos helps to show a clearer outline of the picture. 

In these two images tone is used to enhance the objects in the image. The use of tone in the first image makes the flowers standout and allows the lines within the flowers to standout. This is effective because  it makes them looks 3D as well as making sure they're eye-catching to look at. The use of tone in the second image helps to incorporate the use of lines and depth in this image. The tone makes each individual line stand out singly and helps to make the depth of the image more clearer.  

The use of tone in these two images helps to make depth standout more in the images. In the first image the use of tone helps to make each part of the Eiffel tower standout and makes each line standout as the you follow the tower upwards. The tone also gives a empty background for the tower to be photographed against making it standout even more. The use of tone in the second image makes the dept along the street standout. It balances out all of the colours and makes them all appear 3D making the street look realistic. 

The use of tone in these images helps to show texture. In the first image the different shades of grey along with the colour white makes each of the lines in the object standout. It effective because if this image was in colour there is the possibility that each of the lines, big or small would get lost. The use of tone in the second image again makes the texture of the leaf standout. The tone emphasis' on each of the lines and doesn't allow any of them to get lost within the image.
